ANALISIS HUBUNGAN ANTARA DUKUNGAN KELUARGA INTI (NUCLEAR FAMILY) DAN PEMANFAATAN PELAYANAN PEMERIKSAAN KESEHATAN BERKALA KARYAWAN DIREKTORAT PRODUKSI PT PUSRI PALEMBANG

Abstract

Background : PT Pusri has made healthexamination as an effort to avoid accident of work. But unhappily, not all of PT Pusri’s employee used its service. One of the factors which influence one for using health service is family support. This research is aimed for knowing the relation between nuclear family support with using general check up service from employees of production directorate of PT Pusri Palembang in year 2009.

Method : This research used the cross sectional design. Population were all of PT Pusri’s employee who have characteristics namely, had married, his wife still life and have children with age 15-20 years old, counted 1110. The sample was 92 getting with simple random technic. The research instrument was questionnaire with interview method. The data were analyzed by chi-square (α=0,1).

Result : Result of this research indicate that there are 63 (68,5%) respondent who were got supporting by their wife and 63 (68,5%) respondent who were got supporting by their children. The result of chi-square supported wife getting x² measurement (9,06) > x² table (2,71), it means that there is relation which significant between wife supporting with using general check up service. While, child supporting obtained by x² measurement (4,13) > x² table (2,71), it means that there is relation which significant between child supporting with using general check up service.

Conclusion : Conclusion of this research are there is relation between nuclear family support with using general check up service. Family can become the health facilitator and company should begin in using family approach for improving utilization of general check up and this research can be continued with observing the  factors which influence interest of  employee to attend general check up.
