PREVALENCE STUDY OF HYPERTENSION AT THE INTEGRATED GUIDED POSTIN BTKLPP’S WORKING AREA CLASS I PALEMBANG
Abstract
Background: The non-communicable disease is the main caused death globally. One of non-communicable disease is hypertension that still be the public health problem that influence increasing mortality and morbidity rate in Palembang. This research purposed to analyze the risk factors of hypertension in BTKLLP’s working area Class I Palembang.
Method: This study used cross sectional design with all of population aged >18 years old who residency in BTKLLP’s working area Class I Palembang with total samples 101 respondents. Data analysis conducted were univariate analysis, bivariate analysis used chi square test, and multivariate analysis used logistic regression prediction model.
Results: This result showed that variable related with hypertension are age, family history, physical activity and stress and variables are not related such as gender, family history, smoking, alcohol and habit of drink coffee. The most dominant variable with hypertension case is age (OR Adjusted=4,262;95%CI=1,378-13,182) controlled by family history, physical activity, and stress).
Conclusion: Age, family history, physical activity and stress are significantly associated with hypertension. Improving health education effort related with risk factor of hypertension case, adding total integrated guided post, organizing counseling activity and specific activity that support increasing healthy lifestyle for members of integrated guided post are very important to decreasing hypertension cases.
