RELATION OF DEPRESSION WITH THE OUTONOMY ELDERLY INTO ACTIVITY LIFE OF DAILY LIVING AT TIMBANGAN INDRALAYA
Abstract
Background : Depression is considered as dangeousr for a psychological and physical health, because it was causing for a function discharge of kognitif, emosional and productivities, especially unautonomy of elderly into fill activities life in everytime. This research is done to know the relation of depression with the autonomy into activity of daily Lliving at Kelurahan Timbangan Indralaya.
Method : The method was using into this research it was from the analytic of desain Cross Sectional about the analysis Univariat and Bivariat. The sample of this research mostly 70 by responden, was taking about Simple Random Sampling.
Result : More than of elderly was suffering of light depression as many 29 (41,4%), as many 11 (15,7%) of the middle depression, and as many 4 (5,7%) of the weight depression. Especially, the elderly wasn’t suffering of depression as many 26 (37,1%). So, the status of autonomy elderly was more than still be autonomous as many 47 (67,1%). A part some of them still unautonomy as many 23 (32, 9%). From the statistic experiment about Chi Square and p value: 0,000, So there are relation of depression with the autonomy elderly into activity life of daily living
Conclusion : Public Health Center should implement preventive, promotive, and curative to the elderly who experience or are at risk of depression and dependence in the form of health education, direct care, environmental modification of physical and social rehabilitation, so that the problem of depression and dependence in the village of scales elderly can be prevented or minimized.
